ISS divests activities in Greece

ISS, a global leading facility services provider, has divested its activities in Greece.
  • The divestment reflects ISS’ strategy of focusing on its core business in markets with significant future demand for Integrated Facility Services and markets of importance for international key customers. Currently global & regional contracts represent only 2,4% of the total annual revenue of ISS Greece.
  •  The buyer of the activities is a company owned by Isabella Arvaniti, who is already active in the real estate market.
  • Annual revenue of DKK 323 million (2016), 2,200 employees
  • Current ISS Greece CFO Kostas Moraitakis will also be a minority shareholder and will become the President & CEO.

The divestment is part of ISS’ strategy to focus on markets that have significant demand for Integrated Facility Services (IFS) and a presence of international key customers.

Henrik Langebæk, Regional CEO Eastern Europe, said:

"We continuously review our activities to ensure our setup supports our strategy of focussing on adding value through IFS to large global and regional customers.
ISS Greece has existed since 1977, with full ISS ownership since 1988, and with the contributions of our talented colleagues, the company has developed into the local industry leader. However, we only have a small presence of global and international customers.

It has been important to us to find the right buyer to ensure we are still able to provide reliable, high-quality and value-adding services to both existing and new international customers with operations in Greece. We are confident that under the new owner and the continued leadership of Kostas Moraitakis and the current management team of ISS Greece, ISS will have a strong partner locally.”

With the transfer of shares, all employees and customers will be transferred to the new owners on existing terms. Completion of the transaction will take place late January 2018.

In 2016, the annual revenue in ISS Greece was DKK 323 million and had 2,200 employees.
